The #MonsterPartnerChallenge has finished and, after checking out hundreds of submissions, illustrations, comics and even stories, it was very difficult to choose the winners, just so many great entries, thanks a lot to everyone who participated! So, here are the results! 1- First place is Estheryu !

The amount of color, characters, story-telling and technique are superb. I loved exploring with my eyes every bit of this piece and how it captures the feeling of partnership between cute monsters and humans in an amazing way. 2- Second place goes to Sly-Mk3

I have to say I absolutely loved the idea and execution here. A whole monster as your own cozy eldritch room to hang out at and play games and such? Nothing beats that! The composition, technique, lighting, It's a really fun scene, and just by looking at it I already feel envy that I don't have my own room-monster. 3- And third place goes to KovuXDD

This was another instant eye-catcher. And the more I looked at it, I ended up smiling myself after seeing these ... seemingly playful demons that just love their human so much, that they'll make sure you never forget to brush your teeth! Loved the use of colors and just how there's a lot to look at, the color palette, lighting and expressions are very nicely done. --- Congratulations! And thank you to everyone who took part of this very fun challenge, I had a lot of fun seeing your submissions, loved the variety in styles, the different kinds of relationships portrayed, some monsters were friendly others not so much, some gave a great feeling of adventure and some a eerie feeling of horror too. A lot were very unique, some cute, some terrifying and some made me wonder if everything's alright at home.. guys?... Anyway! Here are some honorable mentions that I really liked a lot! Hey friends! It's finally time for the #MonsterPartnerChallenge !

What is this? An invitation for you create and draw a monster companion for you or your original character♪

‘Monster’ is usually a word with negative connotations, but it doesn’t have to be that way! And, the best way to show that is to... make friends with them~?! Who knows, maybe that’s exactly what you or your character needed!

How Do I Participate?

• Create an artwork of your OC or yourself accompanied by a monster or creature.

• Submit your piece on DeviantArt with the tag #monsterpartnerchallenge

• Submit your work no later than 11:59:59 PM (PT) ON AUGUST 26, 2022

• Multiple submissions are allowed.

Prizes

• Grand Prize: 16” Professional Drawing Tablet and 1-Year Core Pro.

• 2nd Place: 1-Year Core+, 8,000 DeviantArt Points + 900 Fragments.

• 3rd Place: 1-Year Core, 4,000 DeviantArt Points + 900 Fragments

Three (3) Winners will be selected from all eligible and qualified Works by the host of the Contest (parororo), on or about August 30, 2022. The odds of winning depend on the number and quality of Works received. The Winners will be selected on the basis of:

Ah ha!

Got your attention there, I'm sure.

But hey hey no no don't worry this is not a a fake, I -am- featuring some very fine tentacles here in this post, so you can marvel looking at them too~

After all, there's so much that can be done with such a theme, hahaaa just not what you're probably thinking, see!

Just lots of good detail, some are creepy, some are chewy and some are even handy with tools and can make a good partner.

So many different themes and ideas can be explored, almost literally, hahaa,

I feel I should study some more myself, if you follow me, then sure you know I draw tentacles from time to time but I have to step up my game, bwahaha so here I go, time to draw for myself~

Finally our journey is over! No more airports, no more crowds..! Just came back from Los Angeles, and, after almost a full day between the first airport and then reaching home, and then another day of unpacking and cleaning the house, we're tired but happy haha.

The expo was great, this was our booth with AlpacaCarlesi, I felt a little intimidated seeing so many awesome artists. It was our first time, but I'm sure it won't be the last~! I feel we came a bit unprepared haha, our booth kinda looks a little messy, and since we weren't sure just how much merch to bring, we sold out on a lot of stuff by the 3rd and 4th day! Which actually is awesome, but I feel a little bad for the people who wanted stuff like my mini-artbook or some of the t-shirts that got sold out haaaa.

But yeah, the thing is crazy, we had been to AnimeNYC a couple years ago, and it was also immense, but AX felt just... even bigger than that. It's crazy. Hundreds of artists, thousands of people, I felt it went by super quickly, I feel we didn't stop to catch our breath even for a minute all those days, and I'm super happy for all the great comments, the people who came to say hi, to buy our merch, to appreciate our work, the mutuals that came by, it felt awesome to say hi IRL, and it just made me want to come home already to just draw more and better.

It was super chaotic, but really positive. Speaking of positive, I sure hope we didn't catch covid haha~! Although by now I think we would have already noticed (like last time we caught it...), so I think we'll be fine.

So yeah! Now that we've rested a bit, cleaned and organized our stuff, I feel already better and eager to start drawing more again, hahaaa~ And thank you if you read all the way to here! See you hopefully next year!

I'll always be happy to share around any fanart of Aria made, I think it's clear she's my most popular OC and her design makes her somewhat easy to draw heheheh

But Kaz also been popular sometimes hahaa. I want to focus on her comic again after I get some more of Amissio done.
